Our story
More than
a game
This is the New West Eagles — our mission, our values, and the journey of a program built by its community.
Our mission
“To provide hardworking and deserving youth accessible and high quality basketball training and experiences, integrated with life skills education with intent and purpose.”
Basketball is the reason we come together — but it was never the whole point. The Eagles exist to develop young people through the game, with intent and purpose.
Where we started
The Eagles began the way most good things do in New Westminster — with a group of young players, a gym, and people willing to put in the work. What started as a team became a program, and the program became a community.
How we grew
Season after season, the standard rose. More practices, longer road trips, tougher competition, and a culture that asked players to be better teammates and better people. The Eagles identity took shape.
Where the story continues
Today the Eagles keep doing what they have always done: giving hardworking, deserving youth a place to develop, compete, and belong — and passing the culture on to the players who come next.
Our story through the years
The Journey

Where it started
A group of young players stepping onto the floor for the first time as Eagles — learning the game, the standard, and each other.

Finding our footing
Repetition, reps, and rhythm. The habits of a real program begin to take hold on and off the court.

Building the identity
Tougher opponents, longer road trips, and a group that starts to look and play like a team.

Raising the level
Bigger stages and higher expectations. The work put in over the years becomes visible in the way the Eagles compete.

Where the story continues
Leaders now, carrying everything they have learned as Eagles into their next chapter — and passing it on to those behind them.
